THOMAS MENK

Fine Art Photographer | Management Mentor | Entrepreneur

FUJIFILM X-PHOTOGRAPHER

Thomas Menk is a Fine-art photographer based in Hachenburg, Germany. Thomas: „I think photography is one way for me to slow down my time and feel again the slowness in a frantic world. What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that is gone forever, impossible to reproduce. My style is simple, reduced, straight and melancholy. I am mostly interested in urban landscape, landscape and travel photography. I like portrait shooting only in real settings…….

INTERVIEW WITH THOMAS MENK | FSTOPLOUNGE

For a long time, I had wanted to interview Thomas Menk for our show, The State Of Mirrorless and here it is. Thomas Menk defines himself as a fine art photographer, a designer, a philosopher, a composer, a father, a learner and a human being. He is undoubtedly all of those, but he’s also an official Fujifilm X-Photographer and the curator of a growing and popular collection of links to blog posts and web pages about the Fuji X series of cameras. Based on my interaction with him, he seems to me a soft-spoken, humble gentleman…..

X-PERT 53 INTERVIEW: THOMAS MENK

Thomas is what I consider to be a meticulous photographer. His attention to detail is astounding and that would apply to every aspect of the photograph. Within his interview he confesses that detail is an essential quality he likes to shoot with the XF35mm F1.4 lens. You will be more than exposed to this as you enjoy the images he has submitted with his answers. His selection of shots also contain some of my favourite shots collected within the X-pert 53 gallery. I consider Venice to be the most beautiful city in the world. It is my favourite place to visit. For this reason, his shots of Venice evoke so much emotion and nostalgia that the romanticism of the city is captured wonderfully, using the sublime bokeh that the F1.4 produces…..

IMAG MAGAZIN
